YOU can make the lives of people in our community a little brighter when you pay your taxes this year by donating $1, $5, or $10 to Project CARE (Community Assistance Relief Effort). This project supports local nonprofit agencies that serve residents in need and receive support from the County's Community Assistance Fund - Indigent Fund. The Community Assistance Board (CAB) administers the fund and 100% of the donations will go to nonprofits. Organizations that have received funds from the CAB in the past include Bridgeway, Connections to Success, Crider Center, Sts. Joachim and Ann Care Service and Volunteers in Medicine. Donations are tax deductible.
How to pay your taxes and donate to Project CARE:
Donating to Project CARE is easy - just check the $1, $5, or $10 Project CARE donation box on your tax statement Payment Coupon and include the donation amount in your payment check. If you pay your taxes in person at the Collector's Office, be sure to tell the clerk you want to make a donation to Project CARE and the cashier will accept the donation along with your tax payment.
Donations to Project CARE will be identified on your tax receipt as a separate line item.
The Power of Project CARE
In 2016, 305,056 tax bills were mailed and in 2017 just over 310,000 were mailed. If...
- Everyone added $1 to each bill = $310 thousand to help our neighbors in need
- Half added $1, half added $5 to each bill = $930 thousand to help our neighbors in need
- 1/3 added $1, 1/3 added $5, 1/3 added $10 to each bill = $1,653,332 to help our neighbors in need
Thank you for taking the time to consider making a donation to Project CARE!
