Additional information about the Collector's Office can be found at www.collector.sccmo.org

IMPORTANT NOTES:

The Collector's Office makes Paid 2013 Personal Property Tax information available to the Missouri Department of Revenue - Motor Vehicle on a daily basis. The State updates their database at least weekly.

2013 Tax Bills:

  • If a real estate tax statement was received for a parcel that has been sold, please contact the Collector's Office by phone (636-949-7470) or email (collector@sccmo.org) with the Account Number and Name that was billed.

  • The Personal Property bills on this site only display the first asset from a bill.  A paper bill should include everything owned on January 1st of the tax year (Section 137.115 RSMo).   If a zero-dollar-due or no bill is showing, it could be because the Assessor did not receive the Personal Property Assessment Form.

  • Per Section 52.240(1) RSMo, failure to receive a tax bill does not relieve the taxpayer from any liability imposed by law, including the duty to pay 2013 tax (without penalty and interest) by December 31, 2013.

Paying your tax bill:

  • The Online Payment Transaction Receipt is not sufficient for license plate renewal.  The official Paid Personal Property Tax Receipt needed for license renewal will be mailed from the Collector's Office.  Please allow 3 to 5 business days mail time and for updating the state database.

  • Reminder: Partial Payments are accepted on existing bills.  Accounts must be paid in full to get the Personal Property Tax Receipt needed for Vehicle Registration Renewals. All 2012 and prior Real Estate taxes must be paid in full to prevent their offering in the 2014 Tax Certificate Sale.

  • Late payment penalty and interest are assessed on all tax payments made on or after January 1st of the following tax year in accordance with State law (Sections 52.290, 139.100, 140.100 RSMO). These late payment penalties and interest are calculated based on the date of payment or on the postmark of the payment envelope. These penalties and interest increase on the first of each month from January thru September and then again the following January and so on.

  • When funds submitted exceed the amount due on an account, a credit is placed on the record toward future taxes.  A written request (by mail or email) from the party making the payment and containing current contact information is required for the release of funds.
