Michelle D. McBride - Collector of Revenue

Michelle D. McBride took office as St. Charles County Collector of Revenue on March 1, 2007. Prior to taking office, Michelle served as the Fiscal Manager for the Collector's Office. She is active at both the state and national levels. She is a Past President of the National Association of County Collectors, Treasurers, and Finance Officers (NACCTFO) and of the Missouri County Collectors Association (MCCA).
McBride has a B.S. in Accountancy with a minor in Computer Science from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, IL, and an M.S.A. with a Management Focus from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO.
The St. Charles County Collector is responsible for the collection and disbursement of property taxes for over 30 taxing jurisdictions including school and fire districts, municipalities, and other political subdivisions with an authorized tax levy. In addition, the collector receives funds for more than 30 Neighborhood Improvement Districts, 10 Community Improvement Districts, 4 Tax Increment Financing Districts, 2 Property Assessed Clean Energy Districts and 11 Drainage and/or Levee Districts.
Certified Charges for the 2022 tax year exceeded half a billion dollars. By law, the collector must use all legal means to collect delinquent taxes such as the annual tax certificate sale held on the 4th Monday of August each year for real estate taxes and revocation of state registrations for personal property taxes.
